Each month we have a thematic lesson plan. Each week we plan activities that pertain to those themes. September’s theme is “All About Me”. Children introduce themselves through projects about them. They learn about each other, and each others family’s. Our activities, projects, and art highlight all our children’s differences, diversities and cultures. The theme helps children to realize that every person is unique and special; every child’s thoughts and ideas are important and no one person is more or less important than another. We will learn about self portraits, our body and skeleton, our teeth, our muscles and reflexes, our shadows, our likes and dislikes, our feelings and emotions, our homes, and our families. Children observe and learn about similarities and differences between everyone.
